Upcoming Climate Action & Adaptation Plan (CAAP) Convening
Alongside community partners, such as The Community Collaboration on Climate Change (C4) and the residents of GR, we’re creating the City’s first Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (CAAP). The CAAP will act as a road map for how the community of Grand Rapids will reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) and prepare for the impacts of climate change on our people, environment and infrastructure.
The CAAP is being co-created in partnership with community stakeholders to meet our community-wide science-based targets:
- 62.8% per capita GHG reduction community-wide by 2030 from 2019 emissions
- 100% per capita GHG reduction by 2050 from 2019 emissions
We are listening for voices from every corner of the community to hear what may be missing and what suggestions you have for the Climate Action & Adaptation Plan.
Learn about the draft plan and give input to let the City know what you think before February 17, 2025!
The full CAAP draft can be reviewed here.
You can learn more about the CAAP on the City’s website here.
